Updated: Sep 6, 2023

Do you think habits have the power to change your life?

Have you tried developing a habit?

If you said "yes," congratulations. You are making use of your brain's innate pattern.

If the answer is NO, this blog will persuade you to create a new habit to simplify and improve your life.

Most of our everyday routines are programmed in our brains, according to studies. We carry it out subconsciously. Without any external triggers, our brain creates a pattern that it automatically repeats.

This blog contains 10 tiny habits to have every day for a peaceful and successful life.

Read Labels

Today, the world is moving swiftly toward processed food. In our busy schedules, it is almost impossible to check the trustworthiness of every ingredient that goes into our stomachs.

If you are a person, who mostly relies on processed and tinned foods, then develop a habit of reading the ingredient labels. This will give you confidence and clarity and save you money from making a dumb purchase. Next time you visit a supermarket make sure you scan through the ingredient list before billing it.

Gratitude Journal

Gratitude in simple words is saying thank you. Being grateful for everything we have. It may sound simple to explain but when practiced consistently will bring a huge change in our mindset.

To start, take a pen and paper and write down 10 things that you are grateful for in your life. For example, “I am grateful for having good health”, and “I am grateful for my job”. Once you start, you will come up with more kinds of stuff in your life to be grateful for.

This practice instantly changes your mind to feel abundant and positive. The best time to write a gratitude journal is in the morning and night.

Don’t remember everything

When you try to remember everything then there is a high chance to forget something. There is a lot of important information like passwords, id numbers, phone numbers, events, birthday dates, and anniversary dates to remember for a year.

Hence have a short notebook or use your phone to write down everything you have in your memory. This is one of the best habits to form to calm your mind.

Have 10 mins cleaning routine

Clean your home or workspace every day just for 10 mins. This will make sure that your space is well littered every day and simultaneously you are not piling up this work to the weekend.

You can start as simple as replacing all things in their place after work, organizing a rack of a bookshelf a day, and arranging your clothes on another day. Having a clean and neat environment has a positive impact on your physical and mental health.

Ask questions to yourself

You can use your brain the way you want. If you ask your brain, “How to go out for a short tip this weekend despite a busy schedule? ” or “How to enjoy in the home for a whole day without any work? ”. It will give you all possible answers to both questions.

Make a habit of asking questions to yourself. For example, What side hustle can I start with an extra 1 hour a day? What exercise to do for 10 mins a day? How can I make this work better? Is there any alternate approach for this issue?

Your question should be specific. Don’t ask questions like How can I become a millionaire in 10 years? Instead ask, what steps can I take today to become a millionaire in the next 10 years?

You will be surprised to see the number of solutions your mind offers.

Minimize decision making

Minimizing your daily decision-making tasks can save an ample amount of energy. Simple decisions like choosing the outwear, hairstyle, dishes, and mode of transportation kind of things can be made earlier even before the day starts. When you take these decisions a day before, it will simplify your next day. You will have more energy to concentrate on important and productive tasks.

When you take too many decisions in a day it will reduce your ability to choose the best choice. This state is called decision fatigue.

Hence, make efforts to reduce your chances of taking decisions in a day. This is one of the crucial habits followed by millionaires and productive people to save as much energy as they can.

Be on social media

Develop a habit of producing content on social media. When you create your piece of content and put it out to the public, people get to know you and your work. This habit will give you clarity on your likes and dislikes, your interests, and your passion.

You will get contacts with like-minded people and this will create new opportunities. In other words, you are creating a brand identity for yourself.

Overthinking Journal

Overthinking is an issue for many peoples. Especially, women tend to overthink a lot.

Overthinking is not a feel-good moment. It can lead to an emotional breakdown, hampers our ability to solve a problem, affects relationships, and can even lead to mental disorders like depression and anxiety.

To overcome this, have an overthinking journal. Whenever you catch yourself overthinking, write everything that comes to your mind. Keep on writing until your mind is empty. This will make sure that you have poured out everything from your mind. When you read it after a few days, it might look silly.

Keep your phones away

This is common advice we hear from our close ones. Today our day is not possible without these little creatures. But it is possible to keep them away an hour after wakeup and an hour before sleep.

In the morning, your mind is fresh for an hour. When you feed so much information by seeing your phone, your mind starts to process the information instead of setting your mood for the day. At night, your mind needs to relax. So, don’t feed information till the last minute you are about to sleep. Just following this habit, you will see much difference in your day-to-day life.

Burn the crap

This is not a daily habit to follow but will be useful during tough times. Whenever you feel low or if something bothers you badly, take a paper and write it down with no filters. Empty your thoughts and feeling on paper with no single word left on your mind. Then burn or dispose of the papers safely.

This practice will give you a sense of freedom and calm your mind.

These are the simple and best habits to improve your life in the long run. Habits might seem very tiny in our day-to-day life. Surprisingly, we often get lost in thoughts when we repeat the same habit daily in our lifetime.

If we pause for a while, observe and make tiny changes in our habits, it will bring a massive change in the long term. Creating good habits is the smartest way to grow our life.
